October 2019 saw our first Scarecrow Festival.

It was a huge success, with over 30 scarecrows displayed in the church and 549 visitors coming along to see them.

The event raise £2025.00 for the Friends of St Mary's, which will be used to support the upkeep of the Church building.

Visitors to the festival voted for their three favourite scarecrows, points were then awarded to these votes, giving us our winners.

1st Prize - Aunt Sally the gardener - made by Sonia Cumming

2nd Prize - The Mad Hatter - made by Sonia Cumming

3rd Prize - Elvis - Made by Olive Swain & Friends

Junior category winner - Dr Who - made by Ollie Bird.

Alongside our scarecrow display, we ran a 'festival café' serving tea, coffee, cakes, cream teas & lunches.

Thanks to Louisa Watson for the photograph of her coffee & cake!
