What a fantastic weekend we had at the 2022 Scarecrow Festival.

29 Scarecrow displays, containing 34 Scarecrows in total.

583 visitors came to view the displays throughout the weekend, and also enjoyed some wonderful food in our festival café.

As a fundraising event, it was hugely successful too, raising over £1500 for the Friends of St Mary's Church, which will be used to help with the upkeep of the St Mary's Church building.

Visitors to the festival voted for their favourite three scarecrows.

The results are as follows:

1st prize was awarded to - 'The Genie & the Lamp' - made by Sonia Cummings

2nd Prize was voted as - 'Slurped & Slipped' - made by Linda Smith.

As Linda was on the organizing committee, she passed on her winning position to the next highest scoring scarecrow...

So then 2nd prize was awarded to - 'Armchair Detectives' - made by Wine, Women & Books.

3rd Prize was awarded to - 'Woody McWoodface' - made by Ann & Alan Kenney

There was a tie for the winner of the junior category, so the joint winners were:

'When I Grow Up' - by Rory Hodgson

and

'Sarah & Duck' by Puddleducks Pre-School.
